Syed Alwi Alkaff

Syed Alwi is a seasoned Islamic finance professional with over 17 years of experience in the banking industry. His journey is marked by leadership roles in Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam, notably as the Senior Executive Officer of BIBD Middle East Limited. There, he spearheaded strategic growth initiatives, reshaping the bank’s business model and significantly expanding its international footprint in the Middle East and Asia. Prior to this, he held leadership positions in International Banking, Treasury & Global Markets, and Corporate Finance & Advisory.

Passionate about Islamic finance, Syed Alwi brings a unique and forward perspective to his endeavours. His proficiency in structuring and arranging deals, along with his experience in successfully executing complex transactions, cements his role as a driving force in the industry.

Additionally, Syed Alwi serves as the CTO and Co-Founder of Digital Global Markets Network, a digital platform facilitating information exchange among financial institutions in the Middle East and South East Asia.

He holds an MBA with Distinction from the London Business School.
